Hello there,

This evening I have dug up a precious item called The Entertainment Pack from none other than LucasArts. Everything is in excellent condition, although the main box has some wear and tear due to age and handling.

You might be surprised to know that the titles included in the compilation is not for the Amiga, but for the PC! Yes, I mostly write about the Amiga, but I also collect stuff belong to other platforms. ;)

Since the titles are pretty old now (all from the 90’s) it can be difficult to get them working on modern computers. The solution is to install ScummVM, a program which allows you to run certain classic graphical point-and-click adventure games, provided you already have their data files. ScummVM is free and easy to set up.

Anyway, the games included in this pack are as follows:

Sam & Max Hit the Road

This is a very funny point & click adventure game featuring two crazy guys (a dog and a rabbit) calling themselves Freelance Police.. if you haven’t tried it, this is certainly a must! I have embedded a trailer from YouTube below:

Grim Fandango

This is an epic tale of crime and corruption in the land of the dead.Meet Manny Calavera, travel agent at the Department of Death. He sells luxury packages to souls on their four-year journey to eternal rest. But there’s trouble in paradise. Help Manny untangle himself from a conspiracy that threatens his very salvation. This is an interesting game with a unique style and atmosphere to it. Top notch! Here is a trailer for the game:

The Dig

This looks like a pretty interesting game, but I have actually never given it a go. I will set myself the goal of playing it sometime before the summer. Graphics looks neat!

Full Throttle

Oh my, this is grrrrrreat stuff like Tony the Tiger says! Pure excellence from Tim Schafer!

Any fans of these games out there? What is your favourite LucasArts game?

Thanks for reading and have a good night!
