Amiga: A.L.I.C.E. and AmiKit X – Preview of Rabbit Hole

A.L.I.C.E. is an x86 laptop that boots straight into the AmiKit Classic Amiga environment.

Hi all,

Below you’ll find a preview of AmiKit running on the upcoming A.L.I.C.E. laptop from A-Eon Technology. The aim of the computer is to having it boot into an Amiga Workbench environment through hidden emulation. Even though the Amiga is emulated, it will feel native to the user. In this video you will see a function they call “Rabbit Hole”. This makes it possible to run Linux software directly in Amiga Workbench, for example games through Steam and browsers.

It’s great to see signs of life from A-EON, but I do wonder what’s going on with the X5000 they announced earlier. All I’ve seen are updates concerning the development of their X5000 Linux distribution. No news about the port of AmigaOS 4.1.

Here’s a video of A.L.I.C.E. booting by the way. Nice boot menu!
